Hey traveler! As much as we love to travel ourselves (we’re actually both traveling right now)… and as much as we hate telling people not to travel (the reason we launched Flytrippers is precisely to help you travel MORE for less)…
With the COVID-19 pandemic growing as it has, the Canadian & US governments now advise against all non-essential international travel.
Like you, we hope this only lasts a few weeks, and that things get better quickly, for the health of everyone around the world—and for all of us to be able to explore our world as quickly as possible!
So with that in mind, for now, we will only post great flight deals we spot that are 6 months away AND that can be changed for free thanks to the flexible policies airlines have now instituted. We’ll have a post about that soon. As always, we provide great deals, and you decide whether it’s one for you or not—but at least you get the choice.
The past few weeks (or even days) have been surreal, and the fact is things can change really quickly. We still don’t advise you to cancel any travel beyond the next few weeks (and won’t ourselves).
Just because rationally, there is no benefit in canceling future trips early versus waiting to see how things evolve. And in fact, even if you do end up canceling, change policies are only likely to get more flexible and generous closer to the date. We’ll have a post about that too.
Realistically, now that extreme measures have been taken, things could get better soon, and everyone will hopefully be able to start roaming the world before the summer.
If you can, we hope you can postpone your time off to later this year if you had planned to travel soon… to keep as much time as you can available to travel!
In the meantime, we’ll keep you informed on our upcoming new coronavirus resource page for travelers, and most importantly, we’ll share travel tips and more content about plenty of destinations so you can travel through your screen!
That way, you can put this unfortunate forced travel break to good use and make up for it by investing time into learning how to travel more for less and preparing your future trips!
Stay safe (and remain calm),
Andrew & Kevin
