You are currently viewing Video: COVID-19 Testing After Entering To Canada

Here is the first of a few posts about COVID-19 testing for travel. Travelers entering Canada need to be tested for COVID-19 twice during their mandatory 14-day quarantine, including with a self-testing kit to be used at home. Since I’ve now experienced the process a few times, here is a video with everything you need to know about how that works.

I’ll soon have a lot more content about all these topics now that I have returned from my trip to Uzbekistan, including an additional experience entering Canada at the land border with no hotel quarantine (since it’s so ineffective and stupid), just as I had already done after getting vaccinated in the USA for free in April.

As we told you last weekend, a federal committee of experts agrees that that measure is ineffective (as does anyone who knows anything about the topic) and has recommended other major changes to Canada’s extreme travel restrictions.

But it seems that the testing requirements and all the current rules will stay until at least June 21st (and probably longer, especially for those who are not fully vaccinated).

So in the meantime, I show you exactly how at-home COVID-19 testing works when entering Canada (coming up soon: more details about COVID-19 testing in general, tips for free COVID-19 tests in Canada and the USA, etc.).
