About Kevin Gagnon

Flytrippers cofounder

Kevin Gagnon is the co-founder of Flytrippers, where he leads the technology behind the website and the systems used to spot flight deals. He has written all the articles below, drawing on years of hands-on experience with travel rewards, long-term travel, and the practical side of living across countries.

In 2018, Kevin sold all his possessions and became a full-time digital nomad. Since then, he has traveled full-time, lived on 6 continents, and explored 105/193 countries.

Kevin has also established a second residency and manages personal and business banking across 3 countries. This first-hand experience shapes his writing about visas, border crossings, banking abroad, and the logistics of long-term international travel.

He specializes in advanced travel rewards strategies, particularly accessing and maximizing US credit cards as a non-American. He currently manages 15 travel credit cards and uses points and miles to support his full-time travels. His goal is to explain how these strategies work, where the real value is, and how travelers can use them responsibly.

Kevin’s travel expertise has also been featured in Canadian media. In 2018, he pitched Flytrippers on CBC’s Dragons’ Den with co-founder Andrew D’Amours. He has discussed travel economics on RDI Économie and gave a live radio interview from Sri Lanka during the lockdown that followed the 2019 Easter attacks. He also co-hosts Flytrippers webinars and speaks at travel rewards conferences.

Kevin trained as a structural engineer. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, with a specialization in structures, from Université Laval and was a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec for over a decade.

He now applies that same analytical mindset to building flight deal tools, studying airline pricing, and comparing travel rewards strategies.

Originally from Québec, Kevin writes to help readers travel more independently, navigate the practical side of international travel, and use points and miles to travel more for less.
