Flytrippers cofounder

Today, I want to briefly introduce our new collaborator, David Lemieux. The whole Flytrippers team is very happy to welcome him, but especially me: David is going to write travel rewards content to help me help you even better with the best trick that allows you to travel for less.

By the way, if you too want to be able to work from anywhere in the world and contribute to our mission of helping Canadians travel for less, we’re currently recruiting 2 other full-time collaborators (and 1 of those 2 will take over those who just want to write a testimonial about their trips, like hopefully you’d like to do).

The addition of David and these other new collaborators will let us help you even better with our 3 types of content, namely flight deals, travel rewards, and tips/inspiration/news.

Here’s a short introduction to David.

Welcome, David!

David Lemieux has been passionate about travel and flying for a long time, and above all, he too is a real expert when it comes to travel rewards.

He’s bilingual and lives in Ottawa.

Newly retired, David will bring a new and different perspective to Flytrippers’ content, with one or a few contributions each week.

He has very diverse travel experience, having traveled solo, as a couple, with his kids (starting at 6 months old), with his extended family, and with his friends!

David started booking his own trips in 1998, and that’s the year he redeemed rewards for the first time: an Ottawa–Québec City roundtrip flight with AIR MILES miles.

(Recently turned into Blue Rewards points and long since turned less appealing than in the good old days of the fixed-price flight reward chart; if you know, you know!)

In the few decades since, he’s perfected his knowledge of travel rewards, and especially of maximizing points and benefits!

His articles will touch on a bit of everything in the wonderful world of travel rewards.

David has booked family vacations, business trips, and even several ski adventures. In fact, on the personal side, he’s a big alpine skiing enthusiast.

He has plenty of experience in economy class if that’s what you prefer, but these days, David prefers the luxury of lie-flat pod seats for his long journeys.

That’s savvy; business class flights booked with airline points are the best deal in the whole travel world!

In fact, his 1st article is going to be extremely interesting: last month, he did an epic around-the-world trip that included a truly incredible 10 business class flights! Booked with points, of course.

Wow. That’s a good start!!!

That almost makes my 9 business class flights in all of 2025 look bad!😅

Anyway, it’s an excellent time to sign up for our free newsletter specifically about travel rewards, which will have more content than ever (including the article about his trip).

So I invite you to join us in welcoming David to the Flytrippers team!
