You are currently viewing 5 favorite islands of Flytrippers fans

Islands are often a top choice for travelers, offering a perfect blend of relaxation, scenic beauty, and unique local culture. At Flytrippers, we were curious to know which islands our followers love most, so we asked — and received over 100 different responses! Here’s a quick look at the results.

On social media and in our free newsletter, we regularly ask for your opinion on travel-related topics to help inspire other travelers.

That often means that the most popular countries and destinations are over-represented in the answers and that these are more the favorites rather than the best. However, it’s still very interesting to know which ones come up most often.

Here are the islands our followers have shared as their favorites.

1. Iceland

Iceland is one of those places that feels almost otherworldly, which is probably why it’s our followers’ favorite island. The landscapes are so varied and stunning — you’ve got volcanic craters, lava fields, glaciers, and geysers, all in one trip.

There’s something unique about the natural hot springs too; taking a dip in the Blue Lagoon while surrounded by snow or lava rocks is just unforgettable. Plus, the locals are friendly and welcoming, adding to that warm, adventurous vibe. And if you’re lucky enough to catch the Northern Lights across the sky, it’s an experience that stays with you forever.

2. Corsica (France)

Corsica is THE place if you love a mix of rugged mountains and pristine beaches. This French island offers crystal-clear waters perfect for swimming or snorkeling, picturesque villages perched on cliffs, and scenic hiking trails that wind through wild landscapes.

The food is incredible too, with local cheeses, cured meats, and wines that give you a real taste of Corsican culture. Whether you’re wandering the streets of Ajaccio or lounging on a quiet beach, Corsica has a unique charm that’s hard to ignore. This island is both untamed and welcoming, leaving a lasting impression on anyone who visits.

3. Maui (Hawaii, U.S.)

Maui is also a favorite among our followers, who prefer a mix of relaxation and adventure. This island has everything from beautiful beaches and clear waters to lush valleys and volcanic landscapes, giving you plenty of ways to explore.

You can spend a morning snorkeling or surfing, then head to Haleakalā National Park for some truly stunning views. The local food scene is also a big draw, with fresh seafood and tropical fruits that really capture Maui’s flavors. It’s the kind of place where you can unwind or get active, depending on your mood.

4. Malta

Malta is appreciated as it has a blend of history, stunning coastlines, and a laid-back Mediterranean vibe. The island’s ancient towns, like Valletta and Mdina, are packed with character — winding alleys, centuries-old architecture, and a fascinating mix of cultural influences.

Malta’s beaches and hidden coves offer clear and inviting waters for swimming and snorkeling, perfect for a warm afternoon. Plus, the food scene is vibrant, with Mediterranean flavors and local specialties you can enjoy at casual seaside spots. It’s the ideal place to unwind, explore, and soak up a little bit of everything the Mediterranean has to offer.
