You are currently viewing 10 Pictures Of San Francisco That Will Make You Want To Go

Flights to San Francisco are often discounted and since it is a remarkable destination, we want to share these 10 pictures of the city, just to give you that extra nudge to go visit the City by the Bay.

It is one of the most visited cities in North America. I went for the first time 2 years ago and loved my couple of days in the city! And Flytrippers often spots great prices to SF on its cheap flight deals page.

And if you are looking to book tickets to go there on your own (hopefully by supporting us and using our favorite flight search tools at no cost to you), just keep in mind that sometimes it can be worth it to fly into the area’s two other airports, Oakland (OAK) or San Jose (SJC), in case the main one (SFO) is too expensive.

So since California is one of our readers’ favorite destinations, here are 10 pictures of San Francisco.

Tell us in the comments which ones are your favorites… and if you have been there already, become a guest-blogger on Flytrippers to share your passion for travel and build your online following!

1. Golden Gate Bridge

We just have to start with the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. It’s so beautiful. Nothing says San Francisco quite like this landmark.

2. Painted Ladies

The Painted Ladies are also SF icons, with the brightly colored houses being a popular spot to take in the view of downtown in the background. I found it was a great spot to just take a break when I went, with the nice park located there.

3. Alcatraz

You’ve certainly heard about the mystic prison of Alcatraz Island, in the San Francisco Bay, a must-see in the area. Although personally, as a budget-traveler I decided against paying to go visit the island (at least this time).

4. Ocean Beach

Sure, Northern California isn’t as warm as LA or San Diego in the South, but there are still beautiful Pacific Coast beaches like this one, Ocean Beach.

5. Chinatown

San Francisco’s Chinatown is the biggest in the US, by far. Actually it’s the largest Chinatown outside of Asia!

6. Cable Cars

The world-famous cable cars are well-known and are particularly useful in this city with very steep hills.

7. Lombard Street

Speaking of steep hills, one of the foremost examples is Lombard Street, a unique curvy road smack in the middle of the city.

8. Sea Lions

Sea lions can be found at Pier 39, a very popular tourist attraction on the waterfront.

9. Presidio

The Palace of Fine Arts is the highlight of this huge city park near the Golden Gate Bridge.

10. Modern Urban Jungle

The great thing about SF is that on top of the many natural attractions in the area, it is also a great place for those who love urban centers, as it is a huge metropolis, one of the largest in the US.

Bonus. City View

At Flytrippers, we love giving you more for your money, so we like adding extras to our lists.

So here’s one last image. Did you know that San Francisco is surrounded by water on three sides? By the way, if you have a keen sense of observation, you might notice that the bridge in this picture’s background is not the Golden Gate but rather its much longer (yet less famous) cousin, the Bay Bridge.

Summary

San Francisco truly is a must-see city and everyone should visit it at least once. It has something for everyone!
