If you want to travel to Asia (almost anywhere in Asia), tomorrow’s flash sale is definitely the best time to buy your plane ticket.
Usually, we don’t know about deals in advance. The only exception is Air China‘s flash sale that often offers great deals to various cities in China for $599 or $699 roundtrip.
That’s really cheap, as many of these flights regularly sell for $1,200 (or even much more).
It starts tomorrow and we’ll obviously be here to spot all the discounted dates for you on our flight deals page. Just get ready to book, as the best ones will be gone quickly (as is always the case with flight deals).
Here are the destinations that will be on sale for $599 roundtrip from Montreal :
- Tokyo, Japan
- Delhi, India
- Hanoi, Vietnam
- Singapore, Singapore
- Fuzhou, China
- Kunming, China
Cuba will also be included in the sale, for $399. Finally, a couple of other Chinese cities will be on sale for $699, including Canton / Guangzhou, a great option if you want to visit Hong Kong (a short train ride away).
We can never know in advance if there will be a lot of availability… or very little. We’ll see tomorrow.
What we do know is that the dates on sale will be within this range:
- September 1 to October 4
- November 5 to December 10
- Return will be allowed until January 31
That last point isn’t too clear, our assumption is that you’ll need to fly your outbound segment before December 10, but you can return until January 31… but it’s safe to say the Holiday season is most definitely not going to be included at those prices.
We’ll see that tomorrow morning when we spot the deal dates for you.
Flying from Montreal to Asia for $599 is pretty much as good a deal as you can find.
And more importantly, given how cheap flights are in Southeast Asia, you can use either Singapore or Hanoi as a destination, and then buy a cheap roundtrip separately to go to almost any city in Southeast Asia for really cheap.
It’s what we call our multi-ticket itinerary trick. We’ll give you examples of destinations and then how it works:
From Singapore (SIN):
- Bali, Indonesia: 759$ (599$ + 160$)
- Krabi, Thailand: 713$ (599$ + 114$)
- Phuket, Thailand: 718$ (599$ + 119$)
- Cebu, Philippines: 763$ (599$ + 164$)
- Penang, Malaysia: 677$ (599$ + 78$)
- Langkawi, Malaysia: 677$ (599$ + 78$)
- Jakarta, Indonesia: 703$ (599$ + 104$)
- Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: 713$ (599$ + 114$)
- Angeles, Philippines 757$ (599$ + 158$)
- Surabaya, Indonesia: 741$ (599$ + 142$)
- Sydney, Australia: 965$ (599$ + 366$)
- Darwin, Australia: 860$ (599$ + 261$)
From Hanoi(HAN):
- Bangkok, Thailand: 738$ (599$ + 139$)
- Siem Reap, Cambodia: 762$ (599$ + 163$)
- Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam: 707$ (599$ + 108$)
- Chiang Mai, Thailand: 715$ (599$ + 116$)
- Yangon, Myanmar: 759$ (599$ + 160$)
Those are obviously only example prices found between the two cities for dates within the sale period, you’ll have to be flexible tomorrow to find the lowest prices. Here’s how to do it.
First, you find a date combo to Singapore that is on sale. The more flexible you are, the more chance you have of finding corresponding flights at a low price.
Then you search for flights from Singapore to your desired destination by playing around with the dates and searching on our advanced search tool to find the dates with the best price! Just be sure to read the 3 important rules at the end of our article about multi-ticket itineraries.
Other notes:
- Many countries in that area are among the cheapest destinations to travel to in the world, so you won’t need to spend a fortune on your trip once you’re there, as long as you make budget-travel choices
- Air China is a full-service carrier and these deals include bags and meals
- I’ve been on 8 flights with Air China, the experience was great
- There’s always a layover in Beijing, I recommend choosing the longest one as the city offers a free transit-visa that allows you to explore the city (a few hours exploring a new city is always better than 0 hours exploring a new city)
- There’s a decent chance you’ll be able to do an open-jaw for the same price, that is flying into Singapore and flying out of Hanoi for example (you’ll then need to buy an extra flight, but they’re cheap and you’ll get to see two destinations)
- Cuba is also on sale for $399 because there is a Montreal-Havana flight on Air China (we’ll spot those dates too)
That’s all for today, don’t miss the deal dates tomorrow morning on our flight deals page.
