Today, Flytrippers is launching another new feature related to flight deals. This is the one that was most requested: business class deals in points of the more lucrative type! These are literally the best deals that exist in the travel world. You’re going to love this if you want to travel in ultimate luxury for less than economy class.
For over 8 years, Flytrippers has been spotting cheap flight deals in cash for you every day. In August, we added the corresponding price in points of the more simple type as a new feature.
But what’s a much better deal than a half-price flight is getting a luxurious flight worth thousands of dollars almost for free! These are truly the deals that allow you to save the most money, by far. So it makes perfect sense that we help you spot them.
Here are the details of the new business class deals in points of the more lucrative type.
Overview of our new business class deals section
First, here’s what the new section looks like.

I want to emphasize 2 essential things:
- This is a soft launch with only deals in Aeroplan points first (Avios points are next)
- There are 7 very important differences to know compared to deals in cash (it’s vital)
Aeroplan: It’s by far the best airline rewards program for Canadians, so we’re launching with Aeroplan alone. We’ll let you know when we add more programs, with Avios points being next. We’ll increase the quantity of deals by program eventually, too.
Differences: I strongly encourage you to read the clear summary below to understand, because even though the way we display them is similar, these deals are very different from deals in cash.
But here’s the direct link to our new business class deals section on our homepage for those who want to go check it out right away.
How business class works
You can skip this section to go to the explanations about our deals themselves, if you’re already a pro who knows the basics of how to fly in business class with points of the more lucrative type.
If you understand the basics of travel rewards, you know that there are only 2 types of rewards that exist:
- More simple type
- More lucrative type
Rewards of the more lucrative type have a value that varies enormously.
Because the price of a flight in points is NOT TIED to the cash price of the flight. Their value is therefore literally unlimited!
This obviously means it’s less simple. You need to be more flexible. Some point redemptions are PHENOMENAL. But some point redemptions are terrible! It VARIES.
Almost all airline points (and all the good airline points) are in rewards of the more lucrative type.
Airline points (easy to get in huge quantities for Canadians) are what allow you to fly in business class at ridiculously low prices!
Those are phenomenal point redemptions.
Business class flights are very expensive in cash, but they can be booked for not many airline points! This is undeniably the best deal that exists in the entire travel world, in terms of money saved.
And it’s truly great to fly in a luxurious lie-flat pod seat! I loved my 9 long-distance business class flights, and I obviously NEVER paid for that in cash!

What gives unlimited value is that there are seats at limited fixed prices.
Necessarily, this also means that available seats are in limited quantity.
You should definitely read our guide on how to fly in business class if you want to understand how everything works.
How our business class deals work
Since the key to traveling in business class for cheap is to find the available seats that are at the guaranteed low fixed prices, that’s what we’re now doing for you!

It’s the 1st day, so we’ll improve this new section as weeks go by. These deals have to be spotted manually by our team, so we’ll also add more and more as we move forward. If you have any suggestions or requests, please share them in the comments below.
Here’s how it works, with the 7 main differences compared to our cash deals that you surely know:
- One-way prices
- Not just your city
- Long-distance deals
- New descriptive icons
- Missing links
- Taxes/fees
- Expires even faster
Let’s look at each one briefly.
One-way prices
Booking separate one-ways is often the key for business class!
I know that many less experienced travelers seem to be completely unsettled by this concept, but if you want to fly in business class for less, you’ll very often have to book separately.
That’s how it is! I’ll explain why, but first, here’s what it changes for deals.
So the price displayed for business class deals is always the one-way price to keep it consistent and make it easier to understand (even if we’ve spotted roundtrips for a specific deal).
On our homepage, the deal display will clearly show you if we’ve spotted outbounds only, returns only, or roundtrips. It’s in the bottom right.

On the deal details page, usually, there’s obviously just one block of spotted dates.
Now, there are simply 2 separate blocks. Outbounds and returns. Very clearly indicated.

Why is it often necessary to book separate one-ways?
Often, the flight in the other direction will only be available at a later date. Sometimes you’ll even have to find a flight from another city or to another city to complete it.
You’re literally saving thousands of dollars, so you need to be more flexible like this!
Not just your city
Adding positioning flights is often the key for business class!
If you want to go to Europe, you might have to land in Munich and leave from Vienna. Or leave from Montreal and return to Toronto. You get the idea. You simply buy a separate positioning flight. Nothing complicated there.
As I just explained, if you want to travel in luxury, that’s how it is if you want a lot more date options. You still save a ton of money compared to the ridiculous cash prices of business class flights! And it allows you to visit one more city for free if you want! I explained this in more detail with my many recent examples.
The listed deals are therefore for all North American cities, not just for your own selected departure city.
If you have a fixed date, it’ll give you so many more business class options to add a positioning flight.

(The city on the other continent is always the one displayed since that’s the continent where you want to go on a trip; even if it’s just an inbound flight to North America that’s available from that particular city. So the display is always consistent to help you plan your flights!)
Long-distance deals
Choosing long-distance flights is often the key to business class!
If you know the basics of how to fly in business class, you know that the quality of the experience varies greatly depending on the airline, the aircraft operating the flight, and the length of the flight.
The best points deals are really the long-distance flights, in our opinion. It’s not really worth it for shorter flights.
So the listed deals are all for long-distance flights only. At least, for now. Maybe we’ll change later.
New descriptive icons
Booking in business class still has some particularities!
So the listed deals have new descriptive icons to clearly indicate some important elements (in addition to several existing ones for cash deals).
Here’s their description.

Lie-flat pod seat: Some business classes are obviously much worse and don’t have lie-flat pod seats. We’ll focus on the good ones for deals, but the icon is there to confirm it’s a lie-flat seat (at least on the longest flight). Still revalidate before booking.

Direct aisle access: Some business classes, unfortunately, don’t have direct aisle access for every seat. The icon is there to indicate when it’s a more intimate and luxurious configuration. Revalidate this, too.

Mixed cabin: Some tickets include a business class flight and an economy class flight. We indicate it. We’ll only display deals where the longest flight is in business class. Having a short flight before or after in economy often doesn’t bother people.

Free cancellation within 24 hours: Some programs offer the possibility to cancel the flight for free within 24 hours of booking. If you see a seat you think you might want, you book immediately and then have time to think about it. Watch for the slightly different icon with an asterisk to the left: some programs do not offer free cancellation when the flight is in the next 7 days or next 1 day.

Airline logos: While the difference between airlines in economy is never that huge, it’s a whole different story in business class. So we’ve added the airline logo so you can quickly see it at a glance.
Several of the descriptive icons already existing for cash deals are also reused for business class deals.
Here’s their description as a reminder.

Missing links
Searching for deals for you also has particularities in business class!
In cash, we can put nice direct links that take you directly to the right date… we can’t always do that for deals in points, because the technology of some rewards programs simply doesn’t allow this type of link.
With Aeroplan, everything works. But you need to be logged into your free account to be able to do anything on their website!
With deals from other programs eventually, some deals will require you to manually re-enter the city combination and date on the program’s website. Our link will only take you to the program’s website, unfortunately.
Taxes/fees
All the best points require paying taxes in cash!
It’s fascinating how many people don’t know how to do the math well (it’s normal when you don’t know, to be very clear). It’s obviously better to pay taxes and get a value of 2¢ per point than to “not pay taxes” and get just 1¢ per point.
Knowing how to do the math well is 1 of the 6 most important things in the travel rewards world! Your net savings are what matter most! You always need to look at both sides of an equation, not just one. Who cares about taxes if you save $2000? You shouldn’t (if you do the math).
So deals always have the mandatory taxes/fees listed separately with the points price.

Taxes are often quite low. If you absolutely want to save and get the best deal, stick to deals with very low taxes.
If you want more options and/or you’re ready to pay a bit more for the luxury of business class, other programs (not Aeroplan) sometimes have high taxes/fees. We’ll also list deals with slightly higher taxes/fees to give you more choice.
But I remind you of the basics: definitely don’t make the beginner mistake of paying taxes with your Aeroplan points (or with points from any other program that allows this terrible redemption option).
Expires even faster
Traveling in business class with points is the best deal that exists!
So deals obviously expire extremely quickly. Even faster than cash deals!
As soon as you see an available seat that works for you, you need to book it right away.
It’s simple: you should always be prepared and ready! You simply need to take the time to determine which dates and destinations interest you! BEFORE!
If you see a business class deal and you need to waste time deciding if you want to take advantage of it, a savvy traveler who’s better prepared than you will probably book the seat before you.
