You are currently viewing Why We Never Mention The Interest Rates In Our Credit Card Rankings

Since we talk a lot about credit cards, with our article about the best cards and of course the detailed articles about our favorites, we were asked why we never talk about the interest rate specific to each card.

The reason why we never talk about it is that if you want to know the interest rate, you should not do “Travel Hacking” !!! It’s really important, this is the # 1 rule of “Travel Hacking”, so these techniques are really not for all travelers: only those who are financially responsible.

Using credit cards is free and it does not cost a penny, 0% interest or fees when you pay your balance in full at the end of the month. Completely free. And it gives you lots of free trips. BUT it is absolutely necessary to avoid any interest charges by paying everything at the end of the month, otherwise, you will completely eliminate the benefits and rewards you will receive.

So we are not talking about the interest rate because you should not need to know it, you should pay everything at the end of each month. If you say, “Yeah, but sometimes, maybe I will not pay the balance in full for X reason” – well, seriously, don’t do “Travel Hacking”, we do not want you to take any risk. It’s really important.

There is a reason that financial institutions can offer us, financially responsible people, free rewards. The reason is that other people are using the credit to spend more than they should, not to be rewarded for their expenses like we do with Travel Hacking. And we do not want you to be part of those other people! We want you to be part of those who can travel completely free, without paying a penny of interest, because you use credit cards to get free welcome bonuses and additional points for all your everyday expenses.

In short, it is written absolutely everywhere on each of our Travel Hacking articles: it is important to use these techniques only if you have read our 10 rules of Travel Hacking and the #1 rule is never pay a penny of interest by being financially responsible.

Now, if you are still reading this, I assume it’s because you are.
