You are currently viewing Full month in an epic home in Costa Rica with panoramic ocean views for $169

A full month in an epic home in Costa Rica with panoramic ocean views AND unlimited potential stays worldwide for a full year (including shorter ones if you prefer) for just $123? Just $62 per person with a travel companion? Yes! This active listing is a great one to show you how amazing our tip for house sitting and pet sitting can be.

Of course, you’re not guaranteed to be chosen for this (or any) opportunity, but it’s absolutely risk-free because you get your money back if you don’t book free accommodation after 5 applications.

Here are the details of this deal that’s a bit different than the flight deals and travel rewards deals we usually share.

Basics of this free accommodation deal

It’s a truly wonderful house sitting and pet sitting opportunity. Pura vida much!

If you want to apply to get it, it’s very simple:

I shared a guide to house sitting and pet sitting with this amazing platform I used myself to book 5 incredible free accommodation offers, so I won’t repeat everything here. You can read there what you need to know, including our pro tricks to increase your chances.

It’s a great way to save on accommodation (you can get unlimited free stays) if you’re flexible and follow our tips. Again, the money-back guarantee makes it a no-brainer to try it.

I wanted to show you an active listing as a concrete example since that guide was quite popular, and this home is truly amazing.

Home for the Costa Rica house-sitting opportunity

The home looks nothing short of stunning.

The living room is a huge open space with high wooden ceilings. It has chairs, a couch, and a dining table. The glass panels that work as doors open directly to the Pacific Ocean. The kitchen is part of this space, too, and it has a big island where you can cook anything you want with ease.

Funny enough, the kitchen and the inside living room are not the best places in the house to enjoy your meal, as the property has an outside living room that’s often visited by monkeys, toucans, and other animals!

In case that wasn’t enough, the house has an incredible infinity pool with ocean views. It’s perfect for relaxing under the sun.

The bedroom can’t be more spectacular either, following the same pattern of glass panels. Moreover, it has a cozy private terrace.

Responsibilities for the Costa Rica house sitting opportunity

You get free accommodation with Trusted Housesitters, but you do have responsibilities. That’s the tradeoff versus expensive hotels or rentals, of course.

Rosalita, a mix breed 6-year-old dog, invited itself into the home while it was being built and has been sharing it with the owners Lori and Chuck ever since.

The pet sitting duties are pretty standard, meaning you are expected to take care of the dog as you would like your own dog to be taken care of… it needs to be walked twice, in the morning and in the late afternoon.

As for the house sitting, it’s pretty standard too.

The house will be completely cleaned prior to your arrival, so the owners expect to find it equally clean when they get back.

The pool is the exception, as you don’t need to take care of it: a pool maintenance worker will come twice a week for 15 minutes. No other visitors will come during your stay.

Finally, you’re expected to water the houseplants and the outside garden every other day. Very easy.

Logistics of the Costa Rica house sitting opportunity

In terms of dates, they’re not flexible, as is usually the case with Trusted Housesitters

In terms of location, the home is located in one of the most popular areas in the country. I enjoyed it and our Flytrippers team member Evelyne just spent a month in Costa Rica and will be able to share her experience.

The nearest airport is San José (SJO) and you can try all the tips to save on plane tickets since we probably won’t spot a flight deal for those specific dates.

You can pay for your flights with the $1025 welcome bonus from the TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite Card (new increased offer) or the $825 welcome bonus from the Scotiabank Gold American Express Card (5 or 6 points per dollar at grocery stores, including gift cards). For both deals, the first year is free and points can be used on any website (although with TD, the value of the bonus is $860 instead of $1025 if you don’t want to book on their website)!
