You are currently viewing Video: Why You Really Shouldn’t Check Bags

Here’s a video that will hopefully make you reconsider your “checked bag travel style”.

We often repeat it on this blog, most experienced travelers always travel “carry-on only” (no matter if it’s a small carry-on on ultra low-cost carriers or a regular one).

There are many perks… and by the way we’ll have an interesting 5 part series for you very soon, on how to travel light.

In the meantime, here’s what often happens to your bags (when they aren’t lost altogether). Just last week on my flight to Texas to attend TravelCon, I saw baggage handlers do exactly the same thing.

I find it pretty find, how about you? Maybe not (especially if you check bags). I don’t mind if they work this way, it must be faster and therefore cheaper… and probably lowers my ticket price albeit very slightly ?…

I’m kidding dear bag-loving friends, don’t worry… this violent baggage handling probably leads to compensation claims against airlines and that can probably increase the price of my flights, and I am always against everything that increases plane ticket prices (not avoidable optional bag fees, but unavoidable base fares).

Impressive video right? Share this page with your travel buddies by using the large buttons at the bottom of your screen (mobile) or on the side (desktop).

Have you ever seen baggage handlers do something similar?
