You are currently viewing (Expired) Crazy deal: $737 first class flight from Indonesia to the USA (one-way)

We usually just share deals in economy class. Because economy allows you to travel for less. And because there aren’t many premium cabin deals. And even when there are, for those who like to fly in luxury, usually even the deals are not as good as just using travel rewards to get those flights almost free.

But this deal is too good not to share. We bought it ourselves, because it’s fully refundable anyway.

Here are the IMPORTANT details about this deal for $737 (on a flight worth literally $10,000+)!

Overview of the crazy deal

I’ll be doing a follow-up post soon with much more detail, right now what’s urgent is to BOOK!!!

Here are the highlights of the deal:

  • Many dates available (all listed below)
  • It’s C$737 one-way for Indonesia to California
  • That is a decent price even in economy these days
  • And the deal is in FIRST CLASS for the transpacific segment (Japan-USA)
  • First class is even better than business class
  • ANA first class is the ultimate luxury, a suite with doors (photos below)
  • ANA (All Nippon Airways) is one of the world’s best airlines
  • The shortest flight is in business class (Indonesia-Japan)
  • This is often worth $10,000 or more
  • You’ll earn 12,000 Aeroplan points (≈ $180) which lowers the net cost
  • It works, we just booked it to test it (and to take advantage of it haha)

Here are some important details:

  • It won’t last, book VERY quickly if you’re interested in trying luxury
  • It will likely be gone by tonight
  • It’s an error fare, so don’t book anything else and don’t contact the airline
  • No risk, at worst they refund you back if they don’t honor it
  • The fare class is also fully refundable
  • So if you can’t go, you get a refund and that’s it

Here’s how to book:

  • It’s on the ANA website directly (VIETNAM version)
  • Not even on a shitty third-party site
  • You must be on the Vietnam version (price in dongs: around 13 million)
  • You’ll be able to find a decent one-way ticket to get there LATER
  • And find a one-way ticket back from San Francisco later
  • We’ll help you
  • Otherwise, worst case scenario, you cancel and get your money back

Here are a couple of details.

The price

It costs 13 million Vietnamese dongs.

Deal price (image credit: ANA)

That’s just C$737.

A simply incredible price for ANA’s 1st class!

Equivalent in Canadian currency (image credit: Google)

First class on ANA is often worth a lot of money! Check out an example at C$14,000 one-way!

(Someone at ANA is probably getting fired for this expensive error so take advantage of it, at least that person’s sacrifice won’t have been for nothing!)

Price on different dates (image credit: ANA)

Even with points (the best way to get premium cabin flights), you’d need 110,000 Aeroplan points for a one-way ANA first class flight between North America and Japan (or even more to add the segment to Indonesia). Or 75,000 points in business class.

(For context, the welcome bonus on the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card gives you 66,250 points and the one on the American Express Aeroplan Reserve Card gives you 92,500 points!)

Speaking of, long flights in premium cabins are the most lucrative in terms of earning points from the airline directly (as opposed to earning with credit cards). So you’ll also earn over 12,000 Aeroplan points with this flight. That is worth ≈ $180 and brings your net cost down to $557 for a luxurious experience worth $10,000!!!

And it works and is bookable, I can confirm (Flytrippers’ other co-founder also booked it separately on other dates).

How to book

To access the deal prices, make sure the official ANA website says VIETNAM – ENGLISH in the top right corner of the main page (click on it to change it to VIETNAM – ENGLISH).

Location settings (image credit: ANA)

Once you’ve changed the location, here’s what to input:

  • Jakarta (CGK) as the origin
  • San Francisco (SFO) as the destination
  • Dates below one-way
  • FIRST instead of ECONOMY

Look for prices around 13 million on the 7-day calendar that shows up.

7-day calendar view (image credit: ANA)

And finally, as always, pay with a credit card that has free insurance and that you will still have on the date of your flight.

Ideally one on which you are unlocking a nice welcome bonus, or at least one with no foreign currency transaction fees. Read the details.

Photos of the seats

Here is an example of a first class seat for the transpacific flight (Tokyo-San Francisco).

Many dates have flights operated by aircraft with THE Suite, with a door for privacy. The ultimate luxury.

And here is an example of a business class seat for the shortest flight (Jakarta-Tokyo).

Still not too shabby, especially at the same price as the economy class!

Not quite; some readers had time to book it. But obviously, it wasn’t going to last long as mentioned.
