The record-high offer on the RBC Avion Visa Infinite Card is back, and it’s one of the best available in Canada!!! RBC Avion points are rewards of the more lucrative type, offering amazing outsized value (and unlimited value), either for luxurious business-class flights or economy-class flights that are expensive in cash.
It’s also worth noting that this welcome bonus is offered with every new card application, regardless of your current or past cards (although RBC has an informal rule of only approving 1 card per 90 days).
That’s the simplest welcome bonus eligibility rule in Canada (for other cards, you usually have to at least not have the card, or even wait a bit after you’ve had it).
This is an amazing deal if you want to maximize your rewards. Flytrippers helps you travel for less with its free newsletter specifically about travel rewards, its ranking of the best current offers, and its infographic summarizing all the basics.
Here’s an overview of the amazing new welcome bonus on the RBC Avion Visa Infinite Card (with a short video version at the end if you prefer).
Why should I get the RBC Avion Visa Infinite Card?
You absolutely should get the RBC Avion Visa Infinite Card if you want:
- The highest-ever offer on this card
- Extremely valuable RBC Avion points
- A bonus everyone is eligible for
- All the main types of free travel insurance
- A few card benefits like DoorDash DashPass

What is the new offer on the RBC Avion Visa Infinite Card?
The new offer on the RBC Avion Visa Infinite Card is the highest offer ever seen on this card, giving you 55,000 RBC Avion points. You’ll earn at least 5,000 more on the minimum spending requirement, giving you a total of 60,000 points by unlocking the bonus.
Our conservative Flytrippers Valuation of those 60,000 points is ≈ $900 (≈ 1.5¢/pt), but you can easily get $2000+ in value by redeeming them well.
Minus the $120 card fee, that’s a conservative Flytrippers Valuation of ≈ $780 for the offer. But I redeemed those points at the guaranteed fixed price for a 13-hour flight in the world’s best business class (worth $3000+)!!!
You should apply even if you don’t earn the minimum income. As with all other cards, you can define your household income the way you want to define it (banks never define it and rarely ask for proof).
But in this case, you can even apply with your real income that is lower, and worse case they will approve you for their inferior card that has the same bonus (but maybe you’ll be lucky and really get the better RBC Avion Visa Infinite Card).
The minimum spend requirement is extremely easy to reach for just about anyone, as it’s $5000 in a maximum of 6 months. That’s the equivalent of just $192 per week (and over a long period like 6 months, you’re sure to have a big expense come up to help you).
Why are RBC Avion points so amazing?
There are 2 types of rewards that exist:
- Rewards of the more simple type
- Rewards of the more lucrative type
In short, rewards of the more lucrative type have a very variable value, depending on how you redeem them. It’s less simple. But it’s way more lucrative, because the value you can get is unlimited (the price of flights in points is NOT TIED to the price in cash).
You need to be more flexible, but you can get way more savings. If you like getting good deals, this is the type of rewards for you.
The best example is a flight in luxurious business-class lie-flat seats, but RBC Avion points can be worth a lot on economy-class flights as well.
You get enough points to do what I did: book a 12-hour flight in the world’s best business class worth $3000+!!! It’s Canada–Qatar in the famous Qatar Airways Qsuite, with a sliding door for privacy and exceptional service and food!

Because RBC Avion usually offers a 30% bonus on points transfers twice a year, your 60,000 points become 78,000 British Airways Avios points, and that flight is only 70,000 Avios points if you’re flexible on the routing or dates.
Spoiler alert: we now spot these seats in our new deals section (more on our very new addition of Avios deals very soon; but you can read our explanation of the new section).
There are also many great RBC Avion redemptions in economy class when flight prices are high in cash.
For example, my roundtrip from São Paulo to Rio de Janeiro was at the insane price of $1422 (142,200 points of the more simple type), and I redeemed only 16,714 RBC Avion points!!!
I gave another good example this weekend with the last-minute flight I had to book when my train was cancelled. That’s how points of the more lucrative type like RBC Avion points work.
There are many routes and airlines available for both business class and economy class, but wayyyyy less than there are with Aeroplan points. So you certainly have fewer options. But it’s still the very best way to get good deals apart from Amex points and Aeroplan points.
We’ll have an updated guide to Avios points for 2026 very soon.
What are the other benefits of the RBC Avion Visa Infinite Card?
The one I want to highlight is the one that’s one of the most important benefits (and even travel tips) that exist, and yet sooooo few people know about it: flight delay insurance.
Yesterday, I spent thenight in a 553 CAD luxury hotel room for free, thanks to this benefit. I love when my flights are cancelled. You don’t need to be as extreme, but at least stop paying for hotels and meals when your flights are cancelled (or stop having to beg the airline for a terrible hotel).
If you like to order food on DoorDash, one of the RBC Avion Visa Infinite Card‘s benefits is getting DashPass for free for 12 months.
I’ll share a more detailed updated post about this soon, too!
