You are currently viewing Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite+ Card airport lounge access benefit: Ultimate guide (2026)

The Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite+ Card is one of the best credit cards in Canada for travel benefits. Indeed, it’s the card offering the most free annual lounge passes (excluding premium cards), and it’s the only major bank card with no foreign transaction fee (excluding premium cards and a Scotia card on the Amex network). It has a $290 welcome bonus.

The Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite+ Card‘s benefits are what really set it apart and make it a great option for those who want fewer cards. Airport lounges are such an easy way to make your airport experience more enjoyable and more affordable.

I’ve visited hundreds of lounges, and I wouldn’t go without them ever again. Flytrippers helps you travel for less with our free newsletter specifically about travel rewards, our ranking of the best current deals, our monthly live videos, and our infographic with all the basics.

How does the Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite+ Card airport lounge access benefit work?

Here are the details on how this benefit works concretely.

How many passes are included with the Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite+ Card airport lounge access benefit?

The Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite+ Card gives you 6 free visits per year of card membership (not per calendar year). It renews on the day of your card renewal if you choose to renew your card.

If you don’t use all your 6 free visits, you start over at 6 free visits at your renewal (you can’t roll over unused visits to the next year).

You can easily see how many passes you have left in the app or on the website (see the logistics section below).

How do the guesting privileges work with the Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite+ Card airport lounge access benefit?

The 6 free passes can be used by the cardholder of the Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite+ Card or their accompanying guests (it can be anyone; it doesn’t have to be a family member).

To be very clear, the cardholder must always be present (as with all airport lounge access benefits).

As with plane tickets, children under 2 years of age are almost always admitted into lounges free of charge without counting as a guest, and other children often don’t get special treatment and will count as a guest (which makes sense, since they take up a seat just like adults, whether it’s on a plane or in a lounge).

Policies for children vary by individual lounge. They are usually listed on the lounge page.

Are additional passes available with the Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite+ Card airport lounge access benefit?

If you need additional lounge passes for you or your guests, the best thing to do is simply to get other cards that have lounge access benefits in your name or in your travel companion’s name. That way, you can earn other huge welcome bonuses and improve your credit score on top of the lounge passes.

But if you don’t want to get more rewards and to save money, you can use the Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite+ Card benefit to pay for additional passes at a “discounted” price.

Once you’ve used your 6 free passes, additional visits are billed at 32 USD. It’s a little cheaper than if you bought them directly if you didn’t have this benefit, but it’s still not particularly savvy, since you could instead pay that same amount towards a card’s fee and get a huge welcome bonus rather than paying for no reason!

What are the conditions of access with the Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite+ Card airport lounge access benefit?

You have access to the lounges as a cardholder of the Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite+ Card, and that’s it.

There are no restrictions related to:

  • Your method of payment
  • Your seat class
  • Your airline

You can access lounges even if your flight was not paid with your Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite+ Card or your Scene+ points. It has nothing to do with the method of payment. It’s a card benefit, quite simply.

You can access lounges even if your flight isn’t in business class or first class. It has nothing to do with the seat class. When you fly in business class (ideally with points, to pay less than in economy class), you already automatically have access to lounges anyway (often different lounges).

You can access lounges even if your flight is operated by any airline. It has nothing to do with the airline. You can access the very nice Air France Lounge in Montreal even if you have an Air Canada flight, for example.

(There are exceptions, as always. But that represents an infinitely small minority of the 1200+ lounges, where access is reserved for passengers on a specific airline. And it’s better to have access to certain additional lounges in a more restrictive way… than to not have access at all!)

However, all the lounges are independent and may have their own general conditions regarding certain details. They are usually listed on the lounge page.

Here are a few conditions that often apply to lounges accessible through airport lounge access benefits like this one:

  • Limited to passengers with a confirmed seat departing from that airport
  • Limited to a certain number of hours before your flight
  • Limited to a visit lasting a certain number of hours

You can’t access lounges on arrival (without a same-day boarding pass departing from that airport), at least in theory (in practice, it often works by showing your arrival boarding pass). And it requires a confirmed seat (standby tickets don’t work), but that’s not an issue for the near-totality of travelers.

You can’t access lounges 7 hours before your flight, at least in theory (in practice, they sometimes don’t apply the limit if the lounge isn’t full). Often, it’s limited to 3 hours before your scheduled departure (2 hours in some lounges; it varies). Often, this limit doesn’t apply when you’re on a connection.

You can’t access lounges for 7 whole hours, at least in theory (in practice, they often don’t apply the time limit). Often, a visit is limited to 3 hours (independently of the deadline you’re allowed to enter). It’s very, very rarely enforced. In those cases, you can use more passes to stay longer (but you probably won’t need to).

Which lounges are included with the Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite+ Card airport lounge access benefit?

The Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite+ Card gives you access to the Dragonpass network, the 3rd largest in the world. Officially, the name of the network is Visa Airport Companion by Dragonpass.

It gives you access to 1200+ lounges worldwide, including 24 lounges in 8 Canadian airports (with 2 more reopening after renovations in 2026).

You can read how to find all the lounges included below (in the logistics section).

The Dragonpass network is primarily composed of independent lounges, but it also includes some airline lounges.

I want to give you a teaser of our ultimate guides about airport lounges and the Visa Airport Companion lounge network, which will be sent to the savvy travelers who get Flytrippers’ free newsletter specifically for travel rewards.

The Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite+ Card‘s Visa Airport Companion network is powered by the Dragonpass network, which is the 1st icon in the legend at the bottom!

Don’t miss our detailed guide to the Dragonpass network soon.

By the way, Dragonpass also sells memberships that are accessible to all travelers, without a credit card. But that’s not very savvy.

It would be worth 99 USD if you wanted to buy it if you didn’t have the Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite+ Card‘s lounge access benefit. And at that price, it only includes 1 visit, and you’d have to pay an extra 185 USD for the other 5 visits.

That’s a total of 284 USD to get exactly the same access you get for $150 with the Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite+ Card (without even considering the $290 net value with the welcome bonus, the other benefits, etc.)!

What are the logistics of the Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite+ Card airport lounge access benefit?

You have 3 simple logistical steps:

  • Activate your lounge access
  • Find the lounges included
  • Enter the lounges at the airport

Step 1: Activate your lounge access

You must link your Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite+ Card to a new Visa Airport Companion account (it’s free).

You can use the Visa Airport Companion website or app. It only takes a few minutes, and it’s very easy to do, as almost everything is in 2026: you simply need to fill out the form.

Step 2: Find the lounges included

To find out which lounges are included in the Visa Airport Companion network, unsurprisingly, you need to visit the Visa Airport Companion website or app.

On the website, you enter an airport name in the field at the very top of the home page, and the lounges will appear.

On the app, you also have an airport search box right at the top of the home page.

Alternatively, you can click on the “Explore” tab at the bottom.

Step 3: Enter the lounges at the airport

To access lounges that are part of the Visa Airport Companion network, you need to show your Visa Airport Companion card.

You have 3 options:

  • The digital card on the app
  • A screenshot of the digital card
  • A printed version of the digital card

Nothing complicated there at all! But so many travelers don’t take the time to be informed about their benefits and show up thinking they can simply show their Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite+ Card and get in… that’s just not how this works.

The simple preliminary step takes only a few minutes and ensures your airport lounge experience is smooth and efficient.
