An amazing promotion has just been launched! It’s thanks to the new partnership between the best bill payment service (Chexy) and the best rewards program (Aeroplan). You can now get a sort of welcome bonus from the service that allows you to pay your taxes, rent, car payment, and much more.
Chexy allows you to use one of your credit cards to pay many large expenses like these (so you can earn many more rewards), for a very low fee.
Warning: Paying Chexy’s fee is obviously very savvy, and this is not debatable. If you don’t know this, it’s important to start by reading our detailed guide on bill payment services to understand the basics.
In addition to your credit card rewards and in addition to your $15 bonus by using our Chexy link, you can now get a welcome bonus of 10,000 Aeroplan points (value of ≈ $150 to UNLIMITED) with this launch promotion for a limited time.
Here are the details of the new partnership between Aeroplan and Chexy.
Launch promotion for the Aeroplan-Chexy partnership
Using Chexy is always savvy if you use the right card! You can read our detailed guide on Chexy; here, I’ll focus on the welcome bonus and the new partnership to keep it shorter.
The bonus depends on whether you create a new free Chexy account or if you already have an account. If you already have an account, the bonus is smaller… but you can get around this by using a travel companion (as is almost always the case). There’s also a doubled referral bonus for all accounts.
New Chexy accounts
It’s 10,000 Aeroplan points that are pretty easy to get for most travelers! This is in addition to the net rewards of 16.75% that you can get on Chexy by using the right card!
Here is the breakdown of points for new Chexy accounts:
- 2,000 Aeroplan points (≈ $30)
- By making your 1st payment via Chexy
- $50 minimum payment
- 5,000 Aeroplan points (≈ $75)
- By making $5,000 in payments
- In maximum 6 months after the 1st payment
- 1,000 Aeroplan points (≈ $15)
- By making at least 1 payment per month
- For 12 consecutive calendar months
- $50 minimum payment
- 2,000 Aeroplan points (≈ $30)
- 500 pts per recurring payment created
- 4 recurring payments allowed for bonus (4X500)
- $50 minimum payment
- One-time payments do not count here (only recurring)
So, in addition to being able to unlock more welcome bonuses thanks to your payments, you’ll get 10,000 Aeroplan points!
At the very least, make an initial payment of $50 for anything. That will give you $15 with your welcome bonus (with our Chexy link) and 2,000 Aeroplan points (≈ $30) for just 88¢ in fees!!! It makes no sense to miss out!

- To link your accounts
- And make your 1st payment for each portion of the bonus
The 10,000 Aeroplan points are worth ≈ $150 at our conservative Flytrippers Valuation (≈ 1.5¢/pt), but obviously they can be worth so much more because they are points of the more lucrative type.
For example, for 75,000 Aeroplan points, I just got a luxurious 13-hour business class flight to Asia worth $4074! I got a value 0f 5.3¢/pt, which is 3 times higher!!! You can read our preview of the basics of Aeroplan points.
Existing Chexy accounts
The bonus is 4,000 Aeroplan points. It’s lower, but it’s already good that there’s anything at all for existing accounts!
Here is the breakdown of points for existing Chexy:
- 2,000 Aeroplan points (≈ $30)
- Link your accounts
- Make at least 1 payment per month
- For 12 consecutive calendar months
- $50 minimum payment
- 2,000 Aeroplan points (≈ $30)
- 500 pts per recurring payment created
- 4 recurring payments allowed for bonus (4X500)
- $50 minimum payment
- One-time payments do not count here (only recurring)
- Excludes existing recurring payments already created

All Chexy accounts
In addition to the bonus points, there’s another aspect of the Aeroplan-Chexy partnership that’s offered to all accounts (existing and new).
Chexy’s referral feature, which allows you to be rewarded for inviting travel companions to use Chexy too, now has a doubled bonus!
Here are the changes to Chexy referrals:
- Get 1,000 Aeroplan points (≈ $15) per referral
- In addition to the regular $15 referral bonus
- In addition to reduced fees starting from 3 referrals
- The referred person must make a payment
- Not just create an account
- Cap of 10 Aeroplan referrals only
- The regular referral still has no cap
- Deadline of July 15, 2025
- For the referred person to make their 1st payment
- You must have linked your Chexy and Aeroplan accounts
- As the 1st step
To create your account, we sincerely appreciate if you use our Chexy link at no cost to you (as with all our links) and so you get $15 — thank you very much for helping us create more content to help you travel for less.
But obviously we encourage you to then use your own Chexy referral link if you want to invite your travel companions to earn more points!
Remember that in addition to cash bonuses (and now Aeroplan points), you’ll also get a lower Chexy fee if you refer at least 3 people!

Linking Chexy and Aeroplan accounts
The Aeroplan section will appear on your main Chexy dashboard.
However, with the account I created for the promotion, I wasn’t able to link the accounts right away. It took me to the setup for a first payment.
Here’s how I did it.
I pretended to set up a first payment. I completed the initial identity verification (only required for the 1st payment) and added a credit card, but WITHOUT making the payment (because you need to link the accounts first).
Then, I went back to the main dashboard, and from there I could link the accounts.
Once linked, you’ll see this table appear, which reminds you of the promotion’s components.

With the new partnership between Aeroplan and Chexy, you can earn up to 10,000 Aeroplan points in addition to your regular credit card rewards (which can be 16.5% after Chexy fees) and in addition to the $15 bonus after your 1st payment with our Chexy link. Also, the Chexy referral bonus has essentially been doubled!
