Finally!!! The only card that’s a must-have for all types of travelers without any exceptions has an increased offer just once a year… and it’s NOW!!! And the offer is awesome. It’s the Marriott Bonvoy Amex Card, and also its “business” version which doesn’t require having a business and is even higher if you’re already a pro who has the normal version.
And what’s even better news is that it’s until August 18th… because there are other deals you should get before (now) if you want to maximize, honestly!!!
There are also new offers on the Amex premium-level Aeroplan cards, but they’re only interesting for those who want to spend a lot on the same card instead of maximizing.
Here are all the details (and we’ll soon have a lot more content on this amazing deal obviously, including free webinars about Marriott Bonvoy).
4 new Amex offers (and why to take advantage of others first)
I’ll start by listing the table that summarizes the 4 new increased offers.
(I’m also officially presenting our brand new revamped and enhanced table template, more streamlined and clearer!)

I detail the specific changes below, but I first want to give you our expert take.
You should definitely get the Marriott Bonvoy Amex Card and/or the Marriott Bonvoy Business Amex Card if you don’t have them yet. Must-haves!!!
The increased offer is even higher than last year’s increased offer!!! There are 3 separate bonuses. If you want to spend a lot more, the 3rd one makes this the highest-ever Marriott offer, but we haven’t included it in our Flytrippers Valuation of the offer since that one requires a lot of spending.
With the 2 main bonuses, you’ll get up to 15 completely free nights in some beautiful hotels (like in Bali), and therefore 30 free nights if you have a travel companion who also takes advantage of it!!! Phenomenal!
You’ll get a minimum of 86,000 Marriott points (worth ≈ $774 to UNLIMITED) with the welcome bonus and the renewal bonus (you should already renew anyway, it makes no sense not to renew this one).
Each year after your renewal, you’ll get one of the best credit card benefits that exists in Canada: the Marriott free night certificate, which is worth ≈ $315, but has unlimited value like the points. It saved me $600 in Rio on the night of the Taylor Swift concert. Kevin, Flytrippers’ other co-founder, got a $1000+ overwater villa in Fiji!
But as mentioned, I would honestly recommend planning to get them in mid-August (sign up for free and we’ll send you a reminder and many Marriott tips) and rather take advantage of another offer until then.
That’s the basics of being a travel rewards pro: maximizing well and being strategic!
There are so many incredible offers that will (or could) end before, while we know the new Amex offers are valid until August 18th.
Here are some examples before I talk about the 4 increased offers more specifically:
- TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite Card
- End date not public, but we recommend getting it
- $1025 in free travel
- Rewards of the more simple type
- Redeemable on almost any travel expense
- BMO VIPorter World Elite Mastercard
- End date not public, and best offer in Canada
- ≈ $1590 in free travel
- Rewards of the more simple type
- Redeemable on Air Transat or Porter
- RBC Avion Visa Infinite Card
- Ends June 11, 2025 (record-high offer on this card)
- ≈ $780 to UNLIMITED in free travel
- Rewards of the more valuable type
- Redeemable on specific flights (including in business class)
- BMO AIR MILES World Elite Mastercard
- Ends June 1, 2025 (record-high offer on this card)
- ≈ $998 in free travel
- Rewards of the more simple type
- Redeemable on almost any travel expense
Marriott Bonvoy Amex Card
The Marriott Bonvoy Amex Card is one of our favorites of all Canadian cards!
Change:
Instead of the normal offer of 50,000 points the rest of the year, the bonus is now 80,000 points (60% higher)!!! That’s why you need to take advantage of the right offers at the right time…
You’ll get 65,000 points as a welcome bonus and 15,000 points as a renewal bonus.
I repeat that the least logical thing to do in the entire wonderful world of travel rewards is to close the Marriott Bonvoy Amex Card! It gives you an awesome certificate with each renewal, and the best credit card benefit in Canada is worth so much more than the $120 card fee.
The minimum spend requirement is doubled, as is almost always the case during increased offers for this card. It’s $3000 in 3 months (equivalent to $231 per week, because 3 months is 13 weeks). It’s extremely easy with our tips to unlock bonuses.
You can get 30,000 more points if you spend $17,000 more in the 1st year, but that’s not included in our Flytrippers Valuation.
As mentioned, we’ll have a lot of content on the deal, but you can already read a few articles:
- Resource page with 10+ tabs of details about the card
- Best redemptions of Marriott Bonvoy points
- Marriott annual free night certificate: Ultimate guide
Marriott Bonvoy Business Amex Card
The Marriott Bonvoy Business Amex Card is a must-have if you already have the normal version. Like all Amex “business” cards, you don’t need to have an incorporated business, but you need to follow the special instructions during the application.
Change:
Instead of the normal offer of 60,000 points for the rest of the year, the bonus is now 90,000 points (50% higher)!!!
You’ll get 75,000 points as a welcome bonus and 15,000 points as a renewal bonus.
It’s the best way to get another awesome Marriott certificate, too, which you can combine with those of your travel companion to get 5 days and 4 nights in a very luxurious or very expensive hotel if you don’t like short stays.
The minimum spend requirement is higher, as is almost always the case with Amex “business” cards: $6000 in 3 months. It should still be doable, especially with bill payment services (it’s clearly worth it if you can’t otherwise unlock this bonus).
You can get 40,000 more points if you spend $24,000 more in the 1st year, but that’s not included in our Flytrippers Valuation.
As mentioned, we’ll have a lot of content on the deal, but you can already read a few articles:
- Resource page with 10+ tabs of details about the card
- Best redemptions of Marriott Bonvoy points
- Marriott annual free night certificate: Ultimate guide
Amex Aeroplan Reserve Card
The Amex Aeroplan Reserve Card is one of the best premium cards in Canada and provides a full year of unlimited free access to Air Canada Maple Leaf airport lounges for 2 (the most difficult lounge network to access), plus several other benefits for members who have Aeroplan elite status.
Change:
Our Flytrippers Valuation of the offer hasn’t changed, because the parts of the bonus that changed today aren’t included in our Valuation.
What’s changing is that the renewal bonus has increased from 25,000 to 30,000 points, and there’s a new bonus of 40,000 more points that involves spending $45,000 in the 1st year.
If you were planning to renew, clearly that the renewal bonus helps. But it only makes the 2nd year fee worthwhile if you use Aeroplan points well, at a minimum of 2¢/pt (our conservative Flytrippers Valuation is ≈ 1.5¢/pt). If you want to travel in business class, it’s very easy to get well over 2¢/pt. In economy class, it’s rarer.
Amex Aeroplan Business Reserve Card
The Amex Aeroplan Business Reserve Card is an excellent way to get another Aeroplan welcome bonus and another year of free lounge access.
Change:
It’s exactly the same principle as with the normal version.
What’s changing is that the renewal bonus has increased from 25,000 to 30,000 points, and there’s a new bonus of 45,000 more points that involves spending $75,000 in the 1st year.

Summary
The long-awaited increased offer on the Marriott Bonvoy Amex Card and the Marriott Bonvoy Business Amex Card, which only happens once a year, is now available. Since it’s in effect until August 18th, if you want to maximize, you should much rather get one of the other excellent current offers first and then take advantage of the Marriott offers in August.
