Credit card offers change regularly, as I’m sure you know if you’re at all familiar with the wonderful world of travel rewards. But credit card features themselves don’t change very often! But TD has just announced some modifications, and surprisingly, they’re all positive (that’s rare)!!!
The addition of a free VIP airport lounge access benefit on a very popular card is certainly the best news in this announcement!
Here are the details of the TD credit card changes for 2025.
Basics of the TD credit card changes for 2025
Before giving you the full list of changes by card, here are the basics.
The changes take effect on April 30, 2025 for all the cards listed below.
The changes apply no matter if you already have the card right now, if you apply for the card before the date of the changes, or if you apply after.
Let me be very clear: apart from this addition of a lounge access benefit on the 1st card, the other changes are all very minor: just category additions to the multiplier earn rates (and the rates are very unimportant if you know how to earn rewards).
Still… it’s almost unheard of for a bank to make only positive changes to card features. Usually, it comes with some negative changes to other features or an increase in annual fees.
In short, no negatives with the TD changes for 2025: there are only positives!
(Interest rates are going up, but if you’ve read our infographic that sums up all the basics of travel rewards as you should, you know that paying everything on time is one of the only 3 non-negotiable rules if you’re interested in free travel, so I’m not even talking about it!)

We already have resource pages with 10+ information tabs on all these cards, so I’m not describing the cards at all: I’m telling you only what’s changing.
TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite Card
Great news for the card which currently has one of the best offers ever seen in Canada for simple points: it’s going to offer 4 free passes for VIP airport lounges each year!!!
It was due because the card’s “first class” name alludes to a better travel experience, but the card offered literally no perks that made the travel experience more enjoyable.
(And TD Rewards points are of the more simple type, so they don’t offer unlimited value and business class seats at a fraction of the price, unlike RBC Avion points, Amex points, Aeroplan points, Avios points, etc.!)
Changes to the TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite Card
- Added airport lounge access benefit
- 4 free annual passes
- Via the Visa Airport Companion network
- Would be worth $204 if you paid for it yourself (don’t do that!)
- Increased earn rates for certain categories

TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card and TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege Card
I’m combining the 2 best TD Aeroplan cards (main level and premium level) because they have the same very minor change with a new multiplier rate that won’t be useful to everyone.
These awesome cards give you Aeroplan points, rewards of the more lucrative type that have unlimited value, but also already have amazing benefits like the free checked bags benefit on Air Canada (and free carry-on for the premium level card).
Changes to the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege Card AND TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card
- Increased earn rate for one category
- Electric vehicle charging
- New multiplier rate
- 1.5 pts/$ (≈ 2.25%)
- Combined cap at 1.5 pts/$ per year is unchanged
- $80,000 total (Infinite)
- $100,000 total (Infinite Privilege)
- Electric vehicle charging
TD Cash Back Visa Infinite Card
The offer is so much lower than cards with travel rewards, but this card currently has the best offer in Canada for pure cashback (which is why cash back is terrible!).
